Many of our volunteers are regularly involved in a variety of projects. These may be research projects based a particular theme such as our local industries or more practical projects like scanning or digitising photographs and film which has been donated to us.
Some of these projects can often lead on to books and exhibitions.
Casualties of War
Volunteers spent over 3 years compiling articles from the Burton newspapers on all the local men killed in The Boar War, WW1 and WW2.
Windows into the Past
"Windows into the Past" was a major project to scan, preserve and exhibit a large number of glass plate negatives.
Exhibitions
We often put on exhibitions to mark important anniversaries be they local, national or international.

- Research related to the Mining Industry from the 1860’s to the 1950’s
Current and Ongoing Projects
- Births, Deaths and Marriages from the local newspapers
- A large quantity of local cine film is currently being digitised
- Research related to the local potteries
- Archiving of Brewery information donated to the Attic
