Projects

One of our biggest projects involved a team of dedicated volunteers who spent 2 years working their way through the local newspapers from the First World War period to gather information on all the servicemen killed. All the articles were scanned and the information collated and indexed into 17 alphabetically arranged volumes.

A follow up project was then carried out to gather all the information from the Second World War newspapers.

The information has proved to be very useful to family historians, local authors researching for their books and local community groups looking into those from their villages who died during the wars.

Copies of obituaries can be obtained from the Magic Attic at a price of £1.50 each.
