The booklet, is a short account of the experiences of passengers or employees of The Blue Bus Services.  The Blue Bus was a locally run service that ran between Burton-on-Trent and Derby from 1922 until 1977.

It recounts memories such as the picking up and dropping passengers at their front doors; crews being asked to do some shopping in town and dropping it off on the return journeys; the conductors crossing the roads and looking out and waiting for regular latecomers. And perhaps more noticeable, a friendly conductor to help elderly passengers and young mothers with pushchairs, and anyone with shopping and luggage, on and off the bus, which not even the modern "buggy friendly", "easy access" and "low platform" buses can replace.
